Dr Simone England is a highly experienced adult general psychiatrist with a special interest in perinatal psychiatry. Following graduating in 1986 and training in psychiatry, she gained a Master of Medical Science in 1993 and her research was conducted in an innovative community home treatment service. Practising as a consultant since 1997, she moved into fulltime private practice in 2003, but has always provided medical leadership to the therapy services within the clinics in which she has worked and currently convenes a number of multidisciplinary mental health professional groups and regularly lectures to other doctors and health professionals in her areas of expertise.

She assesses and treats all general psychiatric conditions, including antenatal and postnatal depression, chronic fatigue, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessional and phobic illnesses and disorders of personality and has particular expertise in treatment resistant depression and bipolar disorder.

She has worked on the Health Education England, West Midlands (HEEWM) contract since February 2013 and offers psychiatric input to assess and treat those doctors and dentists in training who have mental health needs.
