Phoenix Psychology is a well-established independent practice with two bases in the Midlands. We provide therapeutic services, assessments, consultancy, supervision, and training and specialise in working with trauma presentations across the lifespan.

At Phoenix Psychology we value relationships, a guiding principle which underpins every aspect of our practice. We believe that relationships facilitate psychological well-being when they are built on connection, compassion, integrity, honesty, respect, and trust and have the aim of encouraging and supporting mutual development and growth. Whether it is within our one to one relationships, our peer connections or our dealings with organisations we invest energy in the embodiment of these values with a view of enhancing the capacity for all to thrive, which includes our team members.

The following opportunities are open to new potential team members who would like to join an independent, forward thinking, organically expanding organisation.

Phoenix Psychology are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Adult Service Team

This is a unique opportunity to work with an independent, forward thinking, organically expanding organisation supported by a small, friendly team of like-minded professionals. We are a value driven and a compassionately organised organisation, meaning we aim to support those in our community who may struggle elsewhere to access a timely service. We support each other and recognise the importance of a work life balance. We respect the need, particularly in the current climate, for flexible and balanced working practices. We want you to experience support and room to develop professionally and personally as well as having the opportunity to help to grow and expand our business and invest in its future. We are committed to promoting equality, valuing diversity, and practicing in ways that encourage reflection.

Our small and friendly team support each other, and like everyone at Phoenix, we bring passion, commitment, and integrity to our work. Within the service, we are influenced by Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and therefore experience in ACT or CFT is desirable, but not essential as we will support you to develop in these areas. We would welcome someone with experience of other relevant models, such as EMDR, and in completing cognitive assessments. As a team we will support you to develop your one to one and group therapy skills alongside developing your leadership, training, and service development skills. In return, we are looking for someone who will be invested in carrying out meaningful work to genuinely support our community. Someone driven to develop psychological mindedness in organisations.

Although we are a lifespan service, we do tend to work primarily in speciality areas and therefore are currently looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist into our specialist services for adults. The post will be working across a range of contracts, which does mean willingness to travel across the region is essential.

Full or part time hours can be considered. The salary will be geared towards someone who might be looking for a Band 7 NHS role – but who may be considering an alternative way of doing things.

To apply please e-mail Ruth.Billingham@phoenixpsychology.com a CV and covering letter. To talk to Dr Clare Thompson, our Head of Adult Services, about the role call 01926 485760.

Phoenix Psychology are looking for a Clinical Psychologist in our specialist services for children who have experienced developmental trauma…

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist services for children who have experienced developmental trauma and been adopted, fostered or live in kinship care. You will ideally have experience with this client group and a good understanding of trauma, its impact and associated models of psychological intervention. The work will be varied and can be complex and challenging. Our small and friendly team support each other, and like everyone at Phoenix, we bring passion, commitment, and integrity to our work. The child service is based in mid-Warwickshire, but our team members are also commissioned to work directly in and alongside Local Authority teams and in partnership with a range of statutory and third sector organisations too.

Within the service, we are hugely influenced by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice (DDP). Experience in DDP is desirable, but we invest in DDP training for our team members. You will have regular supervision with, and be part of a team led by, a DDP Consultant & Trainer – meaning you can look to undertake your DDP Practicum and work in a service where PACE and DDP principles are totally central. We would welcome someone with experience of other relevant models (e.g. EMDR, Theraplay) and in the complex assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions.

Full or part-time hours can be considered. The salary will be geared towards someone who might be looking for a Band 7 NHS role – but, who is perhaps considering alternative ways to make a difference.

To apply please e-mail Ruth.Billingham@phoenixpsychology.com a CV and covering letter. To talk to Dr Billy Smythe our Head of Child/ LAC & Adoption Services about the role call 01926 485760.
