Helen is a Systemic Family Psychotherapist working with Phoenix as an associate.
With 30 years of experience working within Mental Health, Helen specialises in working with Looked after Children and offering therapeutic input for children, young people and their parents/carers addressing a range of emotional and behavioural issues associated with attachment and early life trauma.
Helen also provides Systemic Psychotherapy for a variety of other emotional, behavioural and mental health concerns for children, young people and their parents, including anxiety, loss, family reconfiguration, relationship issues, trauma, eating difficulties, low confidence or self-esteem and issues affecting lives both within the home or school.
Helen qualified as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist in 2000 from the Institute of Psychiatry and developed a family therapy service for adults with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Learning Disabilities and complex Mental Health Issues.
She later gained experience within CAMHS both within London and later in the Midlands working in schools and supporting families with a broad array of issues within child mental health, including working within a specialist Looked After Children service.
Prior to this Helen worked as an Occupational Therapist in Acute Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Pervasive Developmental Disorders in South London within both local and National Specialist Units.
Helen currently also works part-time within the NHS with adults suffering with an Eating Disorder.
